Kyle’s debut CD SOUL GROOVE is released
On May 1st, SMOOTH RIDE RECORDS released the highly anticipated debut project from Kyle Wolverton. The CD features 10 tracks which vary from R&B to Urban Jazz, to Neo Soul. The project features a collaboration of musical legends such as Abraham Laboriel Sr., Joey Heredia, Vail Johnson, Joey Navarro and Brandon Fields.

According to the Smoothjazz.com research, SOUL GROOVE has made the Most Added for radio airplay more times than any other CD to date in 2008 with five separate weeks on the list! Thanks to all the stations that are supporting the project!

The nationally acclaimed cable TV program Music Choice announced that SOUL GROOVE was the most played album on their show which airs in over 3.5 million homes each day.

The Weather Channel selects SOUL GROOVE as featured CD of the Summer
Four songs from the CD were selected to be featured on the Weather Channel’s “Local Weather on the 8’s”. Tune in and you will likely hear one of the tracks while you’re deciding whether or not to bring an umbrella!

Candle Light Kisses lands on Smooth Soul Online’s Top 10 Chart
Smooth Soul online reported that the R&B track, Candle Light Kisses was ranked #9 in the country for current soul favorites! Others in the top ten included The Brand New Heavies, Luther Vandross, and Kenny G. Good company!

Kyle travels to Thailand for music tour
On July 12, Kyle traveled to Bangkok, Thailand to perform with Boyd Kosiyabong and his family of artists on his label LOVE IS. Boyd is essentially the Quincy Jones of Asia with an amazing group of artists he produces. The concert tour was billed as “Concert of a Lifetime” and featured various artists Boyd has worked with over the past 15 years since the inception of the label. The horn section included former members of the original Jackson Five brass section.

“Miss Peaches” is selected for upcoming music video production
On July 23rd, an independent production company approached Smooth Ride Records regarding the production of a music video for the song Miss Peaches. The storyboards are currently being created. Stay tuned for more information as the plot thickens!

As of July 28, it is reported that 54 radio stations are featuring songs from SOUL GROOVE on their playlists! The internet stations and cable TV programs are also helping to spread the love worldwide!
